The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research is in the midst of signing a contract with a company specialized in fish to benefit from the institute’s expertise in aquaculture.

A local Arabic daily has learned that the agreement will contribute to sell the institute’s produce of fish farming, specifically shrimp, after the success of the institute’s experience in shrimp farming in desert areas.

The sources pointed out that the agreement could allow benefiting from the institute’s expertise in these technologies to expand production also to the commercial level, through investment by the company in implementing the pilot project more broadly.

It is noteworthy that the Institute carried out the first semi-commercial harvest of shrimp farmed in the outer basins in the Kabd area affiliated to the Institute last month, after it succeeded in producing two tons of shrimp per thousand cubic meters of the project.
