Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said Saturday that death OF COVID-19 in the country rose to 2,752 while the number of positive cases climbed to 85,940.

The Ministry, in its morning update said, so far, 30,153 people were discharged from hospitals after they recovered. Maharashtra is considered the worst hit Indian state with 10,108 deaths and cases followed by Gujarat with 606 deaths and 9,931 positive cases as the pandemic hit 33 Indian states.

India is in its third phase of lockdown in which various regions have been divided into red, orange and green zones taking into account the severity of the infection.

Areas not affected by the corona virus will enjoy some relaxation while there are several restrictions that would be strictly implemented across the nation.
