As a mark of respect to His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Late Amir of the State of Kuwait, who passed away on September 29, 2020, India has declared a day of national mourning on October 04, 2020.

The day of mourning will be observed throughout India and at all Indian High Commissions/Embassies/Consulates abroad. The national Tricolor will fly half-mast at all Government of India buildings across India and at all buildings of Indian High Commissions/Embassies/Consulates and India Houses all over the world. All official entertainment activities remain cancelled on October 04, 2020.

In Kuwait, the Indian national tricolor will fly half-mast at the Embassy of India on October 04, 2020. All officials of the Mission and that of the Indian Public Sector Undertakings in Kuwait will observe two minutes of silence at 11 am on October 04, 2020.

All Indian nationals in Kuwait are also urged to observe two minutes of silence at 11 am on October 04, 2020, to join the 1.3 billion of their brothers and sisters in India, who are observing a day of mourning, to pay homage to the departed leader.
