Indian Embassy celebrated the 74th Independence Day of India on Saturday, 15 August 2020. In light of the prevailing circumstances on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, the celebrations were held in consonance with the COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.

The official program started at 8:00 am at the Embassy premises. Floral tributes were paid to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi followed by unfurling of the National Tricolour flag and singing of the Indian National Anthem and patriotic songs. On this happy occasion, Hon’ble President of India’s message to the nation was read out. A link to the video recording of the entire program would be shared on Embassy’s website and social media handles and will be hosted on Embassy’s official Youtube channel in due course.

In the run up to the Independence Day Celebrations, the Embassy organized various online activities, including Daily Online Quizzes; Essay, Elocution and Drawing/Painting Competitions for school children; and Patriotic Song Competition, all of which witnessed tremendous participation from the Indian Community in Kuwait.
