Embassy of India in Kuwait celebrated Constitution Day of India (Samvidhan Divas) on November 26, 2021. Constitution Day is celebrated on November 26th every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect on 26 January 1950.

The ceremony began with the of paying floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Embassy premises by Ambassador of India to Kuwait His Excellency Sibi George. He also welcomed members of Indian Diaspora and representatives of Indian associations in Kuwait. Ambassador, in his opening remarks, underlined the importance of Constitution of India in making India one of the biggest democracies of the World and upholding the democratic values. He also shared that due to this Constitution, Unity in Diversity can be seen across the length & breadth of India; also with the very same constitution, which upholds Social, Economical and Political equality to an individual; India has been able to make commendable achievements in scientific and economic fields. The speech was concluded by reading of ‘Preamble of the Indian Constitution’.

A Video on ‘Attack of 26/11’, in which the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, paid homage to martyrs of the ghastly terror attack on financial capital of India- Mumbai was screened. A documentary on ‘Making of Constitution of India’ was also screened. On this prestigious occasion; winners of ‘Arts Exhibition’ organized by the Indian Women Network (IWN) were also felicitated.

The exhibition on ‘Making of Constitution of India’ was then inaugurated by the Ambassador and Madam Joice Sibi at the Embassy. The event received a huge response from Kuwait on embassy’s social media.
