The Ministry of Health announced the detection of the Indian Delta variant of coronavirus in Kuwait today, Monday, Al-Rai reported.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, announced that some cases in Kuwait have been confirmed to be infected with the delta variant, known as the Indian mutated Coronavirus.

Al-Sanad explained to Kuwait News Agency, that the ministry periodically conducts genetic tests for the virus to know the type of patterns of mutations prevalent in Kuwait.

He pointed out that the delta mutant, known as the Indian mutant, has been detected in more than 62 countries in the world so far.

Al-Sanad renewed the call to citizens and residents to take the measures and precautions to deal with the virus’s mutations. He urges the resident and citizen to register for vaccination, wearing masks to cover mouth and nose, physical distancing, hand sanitization, and avoiding unsafe gatherings.
