As of next June, the supply of chicken to people — citizens, bedoun, Gulf nationals residing in Kuwait, and domestic workers — who hold the ration cards, will get 50 percent increase in the supply of chicken from 2 to 3 kilograms.
This step came to contain the effects of rising chicken prices in the local and international market, as this increase will go to all 2.1 million people registered in the catering system, who are registered on 248,000 catering cards, reports a local Arabic daily.
The sources indicated that whenever the ministry sees that there are measures to lift subsidies for other basic commodities, it will not delay in doing so.
