Minister of State for Services Affairs Dr. Abdullah Marafie issued a ministerial decision to amend the operating fees for airport services and operations management so that three dinars are added for the departing passenger and two dinars for the incoming passenger, all of which will be added to the ticket price, starting from next June, Al Qabas daily reported.
Senior sources estimated that the decision would supplement the state budget by about 40 million dinars annually.
The sources said to the daily that 7,831 million passengers departed from the country in 2019 and by adding 3 dinars to each departing passenger, the income is estimated at KD23.493 million. While the income estimated is KD15.742 million by adding two dinars from the arriving passengers. A total of KD39.235 million is the expected revenue by adding fees generated from arriving and departing passengers.
