A high-level delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency will visit Kuwait from May 16 to 18, including the Deputy Director-General of the Agency, the Head of the Nuclear Sciences and Applications Department, and the Director of the Asia and Pacific Division in the Technical Cooperation Department.

The national liaison officer with the agency, Dr. Nader Al-Awadi, said in a press statement that the visit comes in the context of strengthening technical cooperation between Kuwait and the IAEA, during which the development of national capabilities and skills in areas related to the agency’s work will be discussed, while preparing for future expectations to help in facing development challenges in its economic and social aspects.

The visit includes a meeting with officials and specialists at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research and a visit to the institute’s laboratories, as well as a meeting with specialists in the Ministry of Health to enhance cooperation with the Agency in the medical fields, in addition to a meeting with officials from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. The delegation is also expected to meet with some officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
