In very good humanitarian gesture, and as a wonderful community initiative, the Flower Company launched a campaign recently, to show support and appreciation for domestic workers by handing out flowers on Mishrif Walkway. Citizens were also asked to participate to express gratitude for the services and help provided by domestic workers during their jobs, even during the coronavirus crisis, Al Qabas daily. The number of domestic workers in Kuwait is estimated at 680,000, of whom 329,000 are male domestic workers, and 351,000 are females, and their ages range from 20 to 60 years.

Hamad, a famous social media celebrity, took part in the campaign, accompanied by others and a group of citizens, aiming to share love with domestic workers with families on the walkway.

The founder and CEO of the company, Abdulaziz Al-Loughani, said this campaign was part of the ongoing campaigns the company is working on to bring smiles to domestic workers and make the community happy, as it donates 1 percent of its daily sales to charitable work inside and outside Kuwait.

During the campaign, bouquets of roses were distributed to encourage sponsors to appreciate and express gratitude towards their domestic workers. He explained the importance of domestic workers in the lives of citizens, and invites all to thank them.

In addition, he mentioned the pressures they were subjected to during the coronavirus crisis, where they couldn’t go out, or meet their friends. Several domestic workers were happy with the offering of the flowers and the kind gesture.

They revealed to Al-Qabas that they were comfortable and happy to work in Kuwait, with some of them living in the country for several years, and they work for the families without any problems. Al-Loughani also highlighted the importance of families taking care of domestic workers generously, as an expression of thanks for their services.
