Using the services of domestic-labor recruitment offices to hire domestic helpers from abroad, is set to become more costly with the offices deciding to increase their fees from KD750 to KD1,250 per employee.

Owners of domestic-labor recruitment offices say one of the reasons behind the increase in fees is because a number of countries like Ethiopia and Nepal stopped sending domestic workers to Kuwait, leading to a scarcity in supply of workers amid increased demand.
