No decision is forthcoming to impose a partial curfew this week, and discussions will take place in the next cabinet session, according to a high-level government source to Al-Qabas daily.

The source indicated that the Council of Ministers will not currently move to impose a lockdown on some areas, as it is evident the highest percentage of deaths, intensive care patients and coronavirus infections are currently among citizens and not expats, so lockdowns will not be implemented on areas with large concentrations of expats.

The source highlighted the necessity of commitment and demand for vaccinations to prevent the spread of the virus in the country, especially after many choose to attend and organize gatherings and hold parties and weddings. It added that the health situation is on a dangerous curve and everyone must cooperate to end the spread of the coronavirus.
