The General Administration of Customs announced, Tuesday, the inauguration of Hi-Scan and B-Scan devices for checking bags and individuals at the Salmi border port.

Acting Director-General of Customs, Suleiman Al-Fahd, said in a press statement that these devices will work to improve the customs work environment at the Salmi port and provide it with the latest supportive inspection devices that work to further tighten customs control, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Fahd added the process of training citizens to operate these devices around the clock has been completed. He also said the procedures to install these devices at the Nuwaiseeb border port have been completed within the framework of a plan that the General Administration of Customs is working on in cooperation with the concerned company.

He stated 73 inspectors from the General Administration of Customs have been trained on how to use the Hi-Scan baggage and personal baggage scanner at the Salmi Border Post and also have been trained to use the B-Scan.

He indicated that 18 Hi-Scan courses and 18 B-Scan courses have been completed, within the framework of the plan to train the inspectors from the General Administration of Customs, relying on national workers and providing them with the necessary skills.
