Heavy Engineering Industries and Shipbuilding Company (HEISCO) has won a project contract worth 68.5 million dinars ($223 million) from the Kuwait Oil Company. The scope of the contract includes the construction of flowlines and associated works in the western region of the country, and the project will be completed within five years, according to MEED. Flowlines are used in both onshore and offshore fields and can be located either at the surface or below the surface.

Multiple flowlines connect individual wells to a manifold in large oil and gas fields. The assembly line conveys the flow from the manifold to a pre-treatment, transfer facility, or vessel. Since the beginning of 2020, the Kuwait Oil Company has submitted tenders for a large number of flowline projects, many of which were worth less than $100 million, although many of the larger project contracts were worth about $250 million.
