The issuance, renewal and transfer of licenses for practicing medical professions in all disciplines and levels in Kuwait, will now require the practitioner to first have their medical certificates accredited by the competent authorities.

A circular to this effect was circulated to all the managers of hospitals, medical centers, dispensaries and clinics in the country by the Medical Licensing Department (MLD) of the Ministry of Health.

In its circular, the MLD made clear that it would cease to recognize or accept non-accredited certificates in any application for a license to practice a medical profession and its auxiliary professions in Kuwait. The circular pointed out that this was in line with the new law No.78/2019 issued by the Council of Ministers and under instructions from the Ministry of Health.
