He said this in response to a parliamentary question by MP Muhalhal Al-Mudhaf, that “150 rulings were issued in favor of the ministry from 2015 to August — 11 verdicts between 2015 and 2016, and 14 in 2017; 27 in 2018; 36 in 2019; 14 in 2020; 6 in 2021; 24 in 2022, and 18 in 2023,” reports Al-Rai daily.

The minister clarified that 4,151,050.721 dinars the collected as a result of these final verdicts which were in favor of the ministry.

He went on to say, conversely, for 40 judgments, the uncollected sum of money is 12,552,269.270. He highlighted that these were final verdicts issued by the Court of Appeal, not the Court of Cassation, and detailed legal measures, such as property seizures, vehicle impoundment, travel restrictions, and reporting to the public prosecutor, are in place until the outstanding amounts are settled.

In another context, Minister Al-Awadhi emphasized the ministry’s commitment to hosting specialized medical conferences to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among experts, ultimately improving disease prevention and treatment methods for the well-being of all citizens and residents.

These remarks were conveyed by Acting Assistant Undersecretary Dr. Abdullah Al-Faras at the opening of the 45th Annual Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery Conference, organized by the Ministry with participation from international specialists.

Furthermore, Dr. Ahmed Asad, the Assistant Undersecretary for Dental Affairs, unveiled the enhanced dental services in Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City, including the establishment of an emergency dental clinic operating seven days a week during nighttime hours.

The Ministry of Health also proudly announced the renewal of international recognition for the Stem Cell Center and Blood Bank. Dr. Reem Al-Radwan, Director of the Blood Transfusion Services Department, highlighted the successful inspection by the American Blood Banks (AABB) organization, ensuring that the Central Blood Bank and the Sheikha Salwa Al-Sabah Center for Stem Cells adhere to high-quality standards.

The Central Blood Bank is recognized for four international standards, and Kuwait now ranks second globally (outside the U.S.) in hosting genetic testing laboratories for blood types.
Dr. Hanan Al-Awadhi, Medical Director and Superintendent of Medical Services and Guidance at the Blood Transfusion Services Department, underscored that the recognition includes laboratories in donation centers affiliated with the Central Blood Bank, making them the third in the world, alongside Brazil and Italy, outside the United States of America.
