Since April 9, the Ministry of Health’s account on the social networking site Twitter has not issued any tweets, despite the ministry issuing daily statements to the press.
A local Arabic daily has learned, from informed sources that the account is in the possession of an employee in the ministry who refuses to cooperate with his colleagues and senior officials and because of some disagreements the account remains suspended and citizens and residents are deprived of the most vital health news and follow-up on the new procedures.
The sources added that all efforts and attempts to restore the ministry’s account have so far been unsuccessful, and there is a tendency to seek help from the Cybercrime Department and to file a criminal complaint against the employee for seizing the government account.
