The Court of Appeal, headed by Counselor Nasr Salem Al-Heid, has acquitted tweeter Hamid Boyabes of committing a hostile act against Saudi Arabia but fined him 2,000 dinars for misusing the phone and insulting the Saudi Minister of Interior.
The Public Prosecution had accused Boyabes of carrying out a hostile act against Saudi Arabia through his account on the “X” platform, by insulting the Saudi Minister of Interior, humiliating customs employees, and intentionally misusing a means of telephone communication.
Meanwhile, Boyabes denied the accusations against him and demonstrated his appreciation and respect for the Saudi leadership and people.
The Court of Appeal ruled to uphold the verdict, based on the fact that the hostile act must be a physical and external act, while it ruled to cancel the acquittal of the second charge and fined him 2,000 dinars for misusing the phone.
