His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, received the visiting Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, on Monday, 2 September. The meeting was also attended by the Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Ali Suleiman Al-Saeed and the State of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulwahab Al-Sager.
The Indonesian foreign minister who is accompanied by a high-level delegation on her first official visit to Kuwait held separate discussions with her Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled. During her visit, the foreign minister participated in the first session of the Kuwait-Indonesia Higher Committee meeting.
The meeting, which was held at the Foreign Ministry, discussed ways to strengthen the close bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, with the aim of enhancing them in various fields. The meeting also explored cooperation on a number of issues related to enhancing the joint action and effective coordination within the framework of the two countries’ non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
The session was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Suleiman Al-Jarallah, Assistant Foreign Minister at the office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Ambassador Ali Suleiman Al-Saeed and Ambassador Abdulwahab Al-Saqer, along with a number of senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
