The customs officers at the Al-Nuwaiseeb border have taken into custody a citizen of an unidentified Gulf Cooperation Council state for attempting to smuggle a pistol and ammunition into the country.
A local Arabic daily said the contraband was neatly hidden inside the décor of the vehicle. The vehicle has been impounded and the contraband with the suspect handed over to the concerned authority.
