The traffic sector of the General Traffic Department has stopped renewing driving licenses for 3 years and according to sources the driving licenses can now be renewed online for only one year.
The sources stated the suspension of renewing licenses for 3 years comes after it was discovered that some expatriates renewed the license for 3 years and then changed the profession, indicating that in the event that the expatriate continues in the same profession, the license is renewed without any obstacles, but in the event of a change in the profession, the procedures followed are taken, reports Al-Anba daily. .
On the other hand, the statistics issued by the traffic sector show from the April 22 and 28 the traffic and rescue personnel dealt with 263 major accidents and 961 minor accidents.
During the same period 34,848 violations were issued, 37 vehicles were impounded and 76 juveniles were arrested for driving without a license.
