The head of the Kuwait Federation for Home Delivery Services Companies, Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri, said the General Traffic Department, from October 3, will prevent the home delivery service motorbikes from plying on ring roads and highways while at the same time praising the decision in best interests and safety of drivers and road users, Al Rai reported

Al-Tuwaijri said in a statement to Al-Rai that the Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs, Major-General Jamal Al-Sayegh, has informed the Federation that the General Traffic Department will determine the areas where these two-wheelers can deliver orders on main roads and streets.

He also praised Al-Sayegh’s decision which is taken in the interest of the country, the citizens and delivery companies.

He stated the home delivery motorbikes cannot ply on the following highways — First Ring Road, Fourth Ring Road, Fifth Ring Road, Sixth Ring Road, Seventh Ring Road, King Abdul Aziz Road, King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Road, King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Road, Al-Ghazali Road 60. the Jahra Road, Gamal Abdel Nasser Road and the Jaber Bridge.

Al-Tuwaijri explained the General Traffic Department has also specified areas for motorized two-wheelers between regions and through intersections and roundabouts.

He indicated the General Traffic Department has warned motorcyclists to abide by the following:

The delivery box at the back of the bike must have reflective light strips, the rider must wear a helmet and must have motorcycle driving license.
