The Ministry of Interior has introduced a new feature exclusively on the “Sahel” application, allowing Kuwaiti sponsors to apply for an absence permit for their domestic workers.
The Security Media Department announced that the General Administration of Information Systems, in collaboration with the General Administration of Residence Affairs, has integrated and activated the service for issuing an absence permit for domestic workers sponsored by Kuwaiti citizens, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the department, citizens can now obtain an absence permit for their domestic workers for a duration that does not surpass the expiry date of the worker’s residence permit.
This measure aims to prevent the automatic cancellation of the worker’s residence status in cases where they remain outside the country for more than 6 months. This service is accessible through the “Sahel” application.
