Informed sources said to exclusive statements to Al-Anba daily, that the Council of Ministers would convene in a meeting to discuss the government’s options, including submitting the resignation of His Highness Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad. This is while there is support for questioning of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al -Khaled from MPs Thamer Al-Sweit, Khaled Al-Otaibi, and Badr Al-Dhahoum, which has the support of 38 MPs, and some MPs have even voiced the option of non-cooperation, Al Anba daily.

Private sources confirmed to Al-Anba daily that the grilling motion is political, and that the Constitutional Court is not concerned with looking into it, and no one can comment on it because it is a purely parliamentary work, and there is no room for referring it to the Constitutional Court.  It is not within the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court to judge the grilling as valid or incompatible. The Constitutional Court does not view grilling as constitutional or unconstitutional, but rather is concerned with interpreting the articles of the constitution. It has previously interpreted the articles of the constitution related to questioning, such as Articles 101 and 102 of the Constitution. Checking with the regulations, it is established that the grilling is not permitted at the beginning of the legislative term, and also examines the constitutionality of a law or regulation or not.

There is also no room for referring to the Legislative Committee, as the government no longer has a majority in the parliament after the support of 38 MPs for questioning. Other sources believed that the questioning of the prime minister carries constitutional suspicions.

A major point is the government’s tenure because only 20 days have passed since it was formed, and has not completed one month, which is a violation of Article 98. Noting the government’s right to refer the grilling to the Constitutional Court.

In response to a question about the reassignment of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, the sources replied that there is no knowledge of it.
