The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Ammar Al-Ajmi, has issued a ministerial decision to form a working group to study housing welfare laws.

The decision, which Al-Qabas obtained a copy of, indicates the team will be headed by the Director General of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, Eng Nasser Khuraibet, and will have eleven members from eight government bodies, most notably the ministries of Electricity, Water, Justice, Finance, Municipality, the Central Agency for Public Tenders, the Kuwait Investment Authority and the Kuwait Credit Bank.

According to the decision the team is concerned with identifying draft laws related to housing care that are required to be studied according to the decision of the Council of Ministers, and making recommendations regarding the current housing care laws according to their latest amendments, to keep pace with legislative development in all areas related to this matter.

The decision also calls to clarify all procedures related to the completion of projects related to housing care and recommendations related to the development of these procedures in order to achieve the desired goals and accelerate the completion of housing projects.

The decision specified a period of three weeks for the team to complete the tasks entrusted to it, and it may seek the assistance of whomever it deems appropriate with experience and competence from inside or outside the institution.
