The current year (2022/2023) budget sees an increase in the government employment sector which can absorb about 41,180 employees of both sexes, driven by about 23,630 jobs that have been created, in addition to an increase in the number of citizens in state agencies by 20,400 employees.

On the other hand, a local Arabic daily says the data reveals the number of expatriates in the public sector decreased by 1,057 during the current year to 82,180 employees, compared to 83,240 in 2021/2022, and the number of military personnel decreased by 1,788, bringing the total number of employees in the government sector to 449,180 compared to 407,990 thousand in the previous fiscal 2021/2022.
