With deep sadness and a sense of great loss we have learned of the death of Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Today we mourn the passing away of a great statesman, a visionary leader and friend. With determination and empathy, Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has continuously worked for the peaceful coexistence of all peoples in the Near and Middle East.
Under his wise leadership the State of Kuwait has transformed into a country of peace, tolerance and prosperity. A country that also became a world leader in humanitarian assistance to others. A country that has earned worldwide respect.
His Highness the Amir was a true friend of Germany. We owe great reverence to his memory.
In this sad hour, our deepest condolences and our sympathy go to the family of His Highness, his next of kin and to the people of Kuwait. “It is with great sorrow and sadness that we have received the news of the departure of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Today we mourn the passing of a great man and a leader with a vision. His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has been working diligently and with a firm will and determination to consolidate the peaceful coexistence of all peoples in the Middle East and the Near East.
With his wise leadership, he was able to transform Kuwait into a safe, tolerant and prosperous country. The country that came to be called the world leadership of humanity in helping others and which was respected by all nations.
His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was a true friend of Germany. And the government of Germany will remain with him in its memory all the reverence.
At this sad moment, we express our sincere condolences and deep sorrow to the family of His Highness, his family and the Kuwaiti people.
