In a recent report, the General Traffic Department announced that its weekly campaigns have resulted in the arrest of 22 individuals whose residency had expired, who have been referred to the competent authority for further action. The campaigns, which took place from April 29 to May 5, 2023, were also successful in referring 80 juveniles and 85 violators of precautionary detention to the Juvenile Prosecution.

Over the course of the week, traffic patrols recorded 34,837 traffic violations and seized 178 motorbikes and 34 vehicles. In addition, 19 individuals and 25 wanted vehicles were apprehended and referred to the appropriate authorities.

The General Traffic Department has been conducting regular campaigns in an effort to maintain safety on the roads and enforce traffic laws. The campaigns have been successful in reducing the number of traffic accidents and promoting safe driving habits.

However, despite these efforts, there are still individuals who continue to violate traffic laws and put themselves and others at risk. The General Traffic Department is urging all drivers to abide by traffic laws and regulations in order to ensure the safety of all road users.

In addition, the department is calling on all individuals to ensure that their residency status is up-to-date, in order to avoid legal complications and potential arrest. Failure to renew residency permits can result in fines, deportation, and other legal consequences.
