The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Dr. Nayef Al- Hajraf emphasized importance of the ties between GCC and the European Union (EU), and means to boost and bolster them to achieve mutual interests.
These remarks came before one day of Al-Hajraf’s upcoming visit to EU headquarters in the capital of Belgium Brussels tomorrow, during which he will meet a number of senior officials, GCC General Secretariat stated.
He wished this visit to be a successful one, as both GCC and EU play key roles in the regional and international stability and security.
EU is an important strategic partner to GCC, as both sides tackle cooperation in all levels in issues of mutual interest and exchange opinions on the latest political developments in the region, he added.
They will also discuss enhancing the economic and investment ties between GCC and EU, and find the best means to benefit from opportunities, especially in the domain of free trade agreements, he affirmed.
