he Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states on Thursday approved a Kuwaiti proposal to set up a single Gulf food security network.

This took place during an extraordinary meeting of the GCC ministers of commerce via the videoconference technology on ongoing Gulf efforts to mitigate the fallout of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement to KUNA.

During the meeting, the GCC ministers also discussed the economic impacts of the globally spreading disease on the GCC countries, it said, adding that there would be more coordinative meetings in this regard.
