The security men were not present in front of the public parks to prevent visitors from entering, but rather to disperse any gatherings inside those parks to ensure the implementation of the preventive requirements, Al-Rai reported.

The head of the field teams in the ministerial committee to follow up on the implementation of health requirements, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Ali, stressed the importance of adhering to health requirements and wearing masks, explaining that “any gatherings are strictly prohibited at present, whether in family sheds, visiting public parks or gathering on beaches to prevent the transmission of infection.

In a statement to the daily, he said that “when any report is received about a gathering for any occasion and outside the permissible number, legal measures are taken against those gathered, and those who called them”. Pointing out that public Parks are open to all, but gatherings in them are prohibited.

A responsible source in the Public Authority for Agriculture confirmed to the daily that public parks are not covered by closure according to recent cabinet decisions.
