The Criminal Security Sector (Department of Combating Electronic Crimes) was able to decipher the incident of illegal entry into the Ministry of Electricity and Water systems, which resulted in manipulation and forgery in the readings and bills of power consumers.
The Ministry of the Interior said that after investigation and the use of technical means and confidential sources, a criminal network consisting of Arab expatriates was identified and caught for tampering with meter readings in return for money, reports Al-Rai daily.
Those arrested have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
