Until such time the borders reopen, the Embassy of France in Kuwait will gradually resume the issuance of visas for France, according to the different categories set to the following timetable:

  • From now on: applicants complying with the categories authorized to enter France (spouses of French, family reunification, health professionals contributing in the fight against Covid-19, and students);
  • Starting May 24th: holders of a Schengen short term visa valid for one year or more, issued by the Embassy of France, which expired in 2020 or 2021 and who wish to renew it;
  • Starting July 1st: all other applicants.

The visa applications must be processed after the applicant meets for an appointment at Capago Kuwait.

The French embassy requests applicants to adhere to the indicated timetable. Any visa application, that does not fall within this timetable, will be rejected.

In order to regulate the list of applicants, the embassy asks people to apply for a visa within the coming weeks only if they have plans to travel to France during the summer, on the condition of the borders reopening to permit travelers to enter France.

The French borders are still closed. Having a visa does not mean that one can go to France for a simple tourist or professional visit, for the time being. At this stage, only travelers falling within one of except categories mentioned in the travel circular of the ministry of Interior can apply for entry into the country.
