The French Ambassador to Kuwait, HE Claire Le Flecher revealed 27,422 individuals, including 23,936 Kuwaitis applied for a Schengen visa through the French embassy during the 9 months from the beginning of January until the end of September.

In a statement to Al-Rai the French envoy said people who have a valid Schengen visa can apply to the embassy to obtain a multiple-entry visa for a period of 5 years when their visa expires according to the new Cascade visa system.

However, she explained that the new system applicants are not exempted from submitting all visa application requirements, and the duration of each planned stay within the Schengen Area cannot exceed more than 90 days within 6 months.

She stressed the necessity of obtaining a visa from the country that will be the traveler’s first destination on the first trip, after which he can travel freely to all Schengen countries.

She pointed out that France is considered one of the most attractive countries for tourists in the world, and that the 2024 will be very special for France, as it will host the largest sporting event in the world — the Olympics and Paralympic Games from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

She called on all Kuwaiti citizens and residents of Kuwait, who wish to experience unforgettable moments and celebrate this event, to visit the tournament’s website and choose the hospitality and travel package according to their needs 6 months before the travel date.
