France has imposed fees on domestic workers traveling with citizens to the country, amounting to about 33 euros (KD10) per day and about 300 dinars per month, Al Qabas reported. The new procedures also specified that only two workers can travel with the family.
The report said that some Kuwaitis who travel to France intend to meet with the French ambassador to Kuwait to know the details of these new decisions. Commenting on the complaints, a diplomatic source said that the law is not new, and is in effect in a number of European countries. The source added that the French consulate was previously not scrutinizing the implementation of the decision with the Kuwaitis , but the consulate recently activated it.
