The Financial and Legal Committee of the Municipal Council, during a meeting chaired by Fahid Al-Muwaizri, referred the regulation of public hygiene and waste transportation to the main session. The committee discussed the provisions of the regulation, in the presence of the concerned authorities in the absence of the legal department in the executive body, and identified the most prominent amendments to give the final decision.
A member of the Municipal Council, Abdul Salam Al Randi, said in a press statement that the amended regulation did not mention any additions that clarify the tendency to reduce the human element, coinciding with raising the percentage of modern mechanisms, although there is a decision by the Council for this item, adding that fines and penalties need to be raised in value in order to be a deterrent to violators, an emphasis on violations of solid waste and liquid waste for landfills.
He pointed out that the previous and current regulations do not give room for developing hygiene contracts, so that they properly contribute to the disposal of waste and benefit from it to preserve the environment, whether by sorting or recycling it, adding that there is a study for sorting requested by the executive body from one of the companies, and it is supposed to be ready to be added. to the list, especially as the contract is about to expire.
On the other hand, a member of the Municipal Council, Abdullah Al-Roumi, submitted a proposal to allocate a site for the establishment of an entertainment and sports city in the south of the country.
Al-Roumi mentioned in his book sent to the Council’s Chairman, Osama Al-Otaibi, that the proposal is dedicated to the establishment of an entertainment and sports city integrated with a commercial market, which includes all kinds of games and for all ages, in addition to the presence of water games, and also contains some sports, restaurants, cafes and various entertainment facilities, as well as The presence of a nursery within the city for children under 5 years old.
He added that the proposal comes out of interest in tourism and making the State of Kuwait a financial, commercial, and recreational center. Municipal members Hamdi Al-Azmi, Ali bin Sayer and Abdullah Al-Roumi also submitted a joint proposal to allocate a site for the establishment of an integrated medical city in the south of the country.
In their proposal, the members demanded that the city include several specialized hospitals that would attract international specialist doctors for all diseases, through whom the citizens would be treated, each in his jurisdiction.
They called for the city to contain residential villas for doctors or a 5-star hotel with wardrooms for doctors, in addition to establishing housing for the nursing staff accompanying specialized doctors and administrators, providing services related to a service for doctors and nursing homes, as well as placing designated places for restaurants, cafes, and parks.
