Well-informed security sources said “the Public Prosecution is investigating a former senior official in the Ministry of Interior on charges of forgery of official documents.”
A local Arabic daily said, this happened after an unidentified citizen submitted an official complaint to the Residency Affairs Investigation Department as soon as he learned about a Bangladeshi was under his sponsorship without his knowledge saying he has not sponsored the man.
The sources said that “immediately after the case was registered, the suspect, who was found to be a former candidate in the National Assembly elections, was summoned for interrogation several times, but to no avail.
After he was taken in for questioning, he was released on bail and referred to the Prosecution. A case of forgery has been filed against him.
