In the context of what was stated regarding foreign contracts the Kuwait Oil Company said those contracts are not employment contracts but contracts signed with foreign offices according to the need and after exhausting all methods to hire specialized technical manpower locally through all methods at the company’s disposal and foreign expertise is sought only if the expertise is not available locally.

This came in response to what was published by the Al-Anba Arabic daily Monday. The daily said specialized labor that is not available in the local market included medical and nursing jobs for Al-Ahmadi Hospital and jobs involving rare petroleum resources with long experiences and high skills and those who are specialized in the field of exploration, drilling and field development, as these offices facilitate the procedures for selecting workers from abroad.

In this regard, it is worth noting that since the signing of all these contracts, specifically since 2017 until now, only 50 petroleum jobs and 141 medical personnel have been hired after ensuring they were not available in the local market.

The Kuwait Oil Company affirmed its deep belief in its national human resources which are it real capital and the cornerstone of its progress and prosperity.

National manpower with different qualifications and academic specializations, are provided more job opportunities, thus contributing effectively and successfully to supporting the state’s plans to solve the problem of national unemployment.

The KOC said it is fully committed to implement the policy set by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to Kuwaitize jobs and replace expatriate workers with national manpower, without prejudice to the efficiency of operations that may negatively affecting the level of production.
