Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah received ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions and chargé d’affaires of a number of European countries accredited to Kuwait, at a banquet he held, Saturday, in the Ceremonial Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the issue of the Schengen visa for Kuwaiti citizens.

Al-Abdullah called on the ambassadors to work to overcome the difficulties facing citizens and facilitate the necessary procedures for applying for the Schengen visa, speed up the completion and increase the validity to several years through simplified and smooth procedures.

The minister also appreciated the efforts exerted by these missions to speed up the processing of visit visa applications during the travel season and facilitating procedures for Kuwaitis who go to Europe for vacations at the same time expressing his full respect for countries’ procedures and sovereignty over the issue of issuing visas.

He stressed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is keen to follow up all issues and procedures related to Kuwaiti citizens, stressing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ full readiness to work and make all efforts to achieve the common interests between the State of Kuwait and friendly European countries.
