Ford Middle East has unveiled a smarter and more powerful version of its popular multi-purpose pickup truck, the Ranger. The vehicle was officially launched in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 9 May and immediately piqued the interest of motoring enthusiasts and industry professionals, highlighting the growing demand for advanced and versatile pickup trucks in the region.

A day ahead of the launch, journalists and media personnel from leading print and online media in the region were invited for a special driving experience presentation of the new Ranger, and a test drive of the various models of the Ranger on the launch date. Needless to say, the gathered media were highly impressed by the remarkable versatility, distinctive capabilities and advanced features of the vehicle. Leveraging Ford’s extensive experience in truck manufacturing and deep understanding of the needs of this particular segment of drivers, the company collaborated with its customers worldwide to develop a driving experience that owners of the next generation of Ranger can rely on for their work, family life, and adventures.

Featuring a fresh and bold design, the vehicle boasts a new distinctive front grille and a bolder upper sideline with wheel arches that give the Ranger added stability. For the first time, the next generation of Ranger will offer Matrix LED headlights, while the rear lights will feature distinctive graphics.

The interior cabin provides cutting-edge technologies, including a tactile and prominent 25cm touch screen integrated with a fully digital instrument panel. Centered around the SYNC4 communication and entertainment system from Ford, the infotainment system comes ready with voice-activated communications.

The five models of the new generation Ranger includes the basic Ranger XL-Low, Ranger XL-High, Ranger XLT, Ranger Wildtrak, and the top-end Ranger Raptor. Engine options start from the 2.0L Single-Turbo Diesel in the XL-Low that delivers 405 Nm torque, to a choice of this engine or a 2.3L eco-boost petrol engine with 452 Nm torque, in the XL-High, the XLT and the Wildtrak. The Raptor comes with a 3.0L twin-turbo eco-boost V6 petrol engine that delivers a whooping 583 Nm torque at 3,500rpm.
