For the first time in history, the Kuwait Oil Company succeeded in setting a new record of reducing natural gas flaring rates in the company’s operations inside the country to 0.5%.

The KOC said reducing the percentage to this level is equivalent to half of its desired goal for the past year 2020/2021 of 1%, which reflects its keenness to keep pace with the permanent development in the oil and gas industry worldwide, especially in the field of environmental preservation, and in line with issues of global climate change, and this achievement reinforces Kuwait’s leading position at the forefront of the major oil and gas producing countries, reports a local Arabic daily.
