In a preliminary evacuation of stranded Indian citizens abroad, India will arrange for 64 flights to repatriate 15,000 Indians stranded in over 10 countries, starting May 7, across seven days. The flights will be scheduled to return to various cities in over ten states and union territories including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Delhi.
The first flight to Kuwait will be on the second day of evacuation, May 8th and will travel to Hyderabad. Another flight will be operated on the third day from Kuwait to Kochi followed by a Kuwait to Chennai flight on the fourth day. On the sixth day, a flight will travel to Ahmedabad from Kuwait, then a subsequent flight from Kuwait to Kozhikode on the seventh day. All flights have a 200 seating capacity, which allows for 1000 Indians to be transported in the first phase of evacuation from Kuwait.
The form
All passengers are obliged to fill a self reporting form before embarking on the flights, which requires their passport number, and other details. They are also requested to reveal possible symptoms, and the last places they had traveled. They will also be asked to reveal present health conditions such as diabetes, cancer and Hypertension.
