Flight operations between the Kuwait International Airport and Cochin International Airport in Kerala have been disrupted after heavy rains in the south Indian state.

According to the flight schedule posted on the website of the Cochin International Airport several flights have been cancelled, diverted or delayed due to closure of Cochin airport following flooding in the airport premises.

The airport was initially closed at 9pm (India time) until midnight in view of a flood alert. In its latest update, the airport has announced that the operations will remain suspended until 3pm on Sunday, 11 August.

Kuwait Airways has suspended all flights from and to India’s Kochi City owing to bad weather conditions. Kuwait’s national carrier said in a statement that it would resume flights to this flood-hit city once weather conditions improve.
