Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy and acting Minister of Education Dr. Jassim Al-Ostad, said there are no plans to postpone the academic year 2023-2024.

He clarified that the reports suggesting a delay in the start of studies until October are baseless. This dispels any notions of postponement for the upcoming academic year, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Concurrently, the Kuwait University Rector Selection Committee has concluded its proceedings and presented a list of five candidates to the Minister of Education to fill the position of Rector.

The final selection will then be approved by the Council of Ministers.

The five shortlisted candidates are — Dr. Fahd Al-Rashidi from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, Dr. Adel Al-Waqayan from the College of Administrative Sciences, Dr. Adel Al-Adwani from the College of Administrative Sciences, Dr. Anwar Al-Yatami from the College of Engineering and Petroleum, and Dr. Yaqoub Al-Kandari from the College of Social Sciences.v
