The Director-General of the Kuwait Anti-Doping Agency, Hana Al-Bati, announced the suspension of five athletes who took banned doping substances during the 2021-2022 sports season, indicating that the agency examined 83 athletes in different sports, according to the international standard for conducting examinations and investigations by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Al-Seyassah reported, the penalties varied which included a 4-year ban was imposed on Kuwait SC basketball player Abdullah Al-Shamri for taking anabolic androgenic steroids substance, and the two-year ban slapped on volleyball player of the Jahra Sports Club Abdullah Al-Assaf for taking banned stimulants; a 3-month suspension for each of the basketball player at Al-Sahel Club, Khalaf Ali, and the basketball player for the Arab Club, Hussein Faisal, and a 6-month suspension for the volleyball player in the Arabi Club, Abdel Wahab Talib for taking the cannabinoids substance.
