Italian Ambassador to Kuwait, HE Carlo Balducci said his country intends to deliver the first batch of Eurofighter planes to Kuwait within the next few weeks.

Balducci said in a statement to Al-Qabas: “The deal is based on trust and mutual cooperation, and all parties are strongly committed to its success.”

In September 2015, Kuwait had signed a memorandum of understanding with Italy to buy 28 Eurofighter planes. The deal is worth 8 billion Euros, and the first batch was to be delivered at the end of 2020, but the delay was caused by the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
