The Ministry of Finance has endorsed a proposal from the Ministry of Education to incorporate financial and tax education into the general school curriculum.
In a communication addressed to the Ministry of Education, of which Al-Qabas obtained a copy, the Ministry of Finance referred to a comprehensive meeting that involved the Tax Information Department team, the Tax Obligation and Planning Department, the Financial Planning Department, and the Curriculum Development Team. This proposal has been given the green light.
To align the curriculum with labor market demands, the Ministry of Finance has shared the proposed concepts from the Departments of Taxation and Planning as well as the Department of Financial Planning with its educational counterpart. These concepts are intended to be included in school textbooks.
Meanwhile, the Gulf virtual conference aimed at supporting innovation, artificial intelligence, technology, and entrepreneurship has concluded. The conference, organized by the Curriculum Sector and attended by Anwar Al-Hamdan, the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Curriculum Sector, along with academics, entrepreneurs, researchers, and economists, yielded several recommendations.
One of the key recommendations is to foster private sector educational institution initiatives to conduct training courses for the Ministry of Education’s educational staff on leveraging artificial intelligence technology for education purposes.
The conference also advised hosting competitions for private entities involved in education to integrate artificial intelligence systems into the educational process. The ministry could then adopt successful private sector experiences involving artificial intelligence in schools, and collaborate with these entities to train ministry personnel.
The conference highlighted the necessity of overcoming challenges, both material and human, in order to stay abreast of the significant advancements in artificial intelligence technology. Investors were encouraged to support intelligent applications, establish strategic partnerships with innovators and entrepreneurs, and create a dedicated agency to accelerate digital transformation across sectors, thereby enhancing productivity.
The importance of training educators and administrators in utilizing modern electronic applications, enabling students to employ smart devices throughout their education journey, updating curricula to facilitate such technology use, and enhancing infrastructure to support artificial intelligence applications were also emphasized.
In conclusion, discussions centered on reviewing the UAE’s artificial intelligence strategy and exploring ways to incorporate its principles into both general and special education institutions.
