A 40-year-old Filipino cook was found hanging inside his room in Hawally at nine in the morning today by his colleagues. Severe depression could have caused the Filipino to take his own life.

According to his flat mates, the Filipino has been complaining about body shivers every time, loss of appetite and sleepless days. “He was seen about to jump from our staircase by a friend and stopped from doing so, and we found marks of rope around his neck, probably have already attempted to hang himself earlier, and we seldom have left him alone but this morning we even saw him taking an energy drink before he entered his room  and that was the last time  we saw him alive,” stated his flat mate after an hour they found him hanging lifeless.

His tenant added that he went to see a doctor to check if he was COVID infected, and the test result came negative. He has been advised several times not be troubled by current situation as things will come to pass. “He even called his son few days back and greeted him birthday wishes, he was alright but his refusal to eat and sleep could have worsened the depression” added housemate.

The case has been reported and referred to the embassy by his recruitment agency in Kuwait and the company promised to cooperate to send his remains home. To add, Philippines Charges D Affaires Mohammad Nordin Lomondot assured to provide all possible assistance to send his remains home to his grieving family.
