An unidentified female inmate died inside the the Central Prison reportedly in suspicious circumstances.
The Al-Rai daily said the death of the victim was reported to the prison authorities by the other inmates. The inmates initially said the woman just collapsed and fell down and was not moving or responding to calls.
The doctor on duty was immediately rushed to the ward and after examining her he pronounced her dead.
The corpse has been referred to Forensics.
