The Ministry of Health is committed to implementing the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), which emphasize continuation of precaution and commitment to health measures such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and preventing gatherings along with other measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 virus, reports Al Anba daily. In response to a query about the re-closure of the malls during the five-day Eid Al-Adha holidays, the sources said, “We are committed to implementing a protocol that aims mainly at protecting the health of citizens and residents. Our first goal is to limit the spread of the virus.”

Sources expressed concern about the re-closure, as seen in some neighboring countries.  The decision called for the closure of all public places and commercial stores during the said period from 7:00 pm until 6:00 am with restricted movement, and during the suspension period, there will be intense patrolling to control activities. The committee stressed the continued halt to gatherings of all kinds, especially Eid prayers, traditional markets, greeting gatherings and collective celebrations of the Eid.
